On a 2004 Chevy Cavalier, after how many miles do I need to change the timing belt?

Normally, the factory specifies 60000 miles. That's just a money maker for them though. What you don't want to happen is to have it break while you're driving;you'll end up with bent valves!

It's kind of a judgement call on your part.On a 2004 Chevy Cavalier, after how many miles do I need to change the timing belt?
is it an interference engine? is **** gonna break if the belt snaps? my ford isn't so i'm just driving it till it goes and i'll change it then.On a 2004 Chevy Cavalier, after how many miles do I need to change the timing belt?

i have a 90 Z24 with 450,000 miles and changed it once at 275,000
every 60-70.000 miles will be good i have been a certified mechanic for 35 yrs,,and i change them for my customer,s at or around that mileage,,and no this is not an int reference engine,,if it does break,,it,s not going to bend or warp a valve.
